Remembering M.S Mathew Mundackal on his first death anniversary


One year after he passed away, M.S Mathew Mundackal will be remembered by his family, friends and well wishers through different commemorative programmes.
The first death anniversary of M.S Mathew, a true Gandhi an, social worker, teacher and political leader -will be observed on Wednesday 18th July,2012 at JaiBharath Public Library Hall, Athirampuzha, Kottayam in Kerala. The public meeting organized by the JaiBharath Public library to remember its founder on his death anniversary, will be inaugurated by Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan (Minister, Home affairs).

The photo of M.S Mathew will be released by K. C. Joseph, Minister for Rural Development, on this occasion. M.S Mathew Memorial Endowment Scholarship will be distributed by Dr.Cyriac Thomas (Former Vice Chancellor, M.G University & Member, Government of India National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions).

The inauguration of the M.S Mathew Memorial hall construction will be held by M.M Jacob, former Governor of Meghalaya.

Justin Mathew (Eldest son of M.S Mathew & Senior Principal, Georgian Public School ), Anto Antony M.P, Suresh Kurup MLA, Joseph Vazhakkan MLA, Former Minister Mons Joseph MLA, Radha V Nair, Kurian Joy (DCC President), Sunny Kalloor (Municipal Chairman), Lathika Subash (Former District Panchayath President), Johny Lukose (Director, Manorama News), Vakkachen Mattathil Ex.MP, Thomas Chazhikadan EX.MLA, Sandhya Banerji (President, Block Panchayath), Jose Edavazhikkal (President, Athirampuzha Panchayath), Sally George (District Health /Education Standing Committee Chairperson), Molly Louise ( Former Block Panchayath President), Georgekutty Vempeny (Panchayath Member), C.G Vasudevan Nair (District Library Council Member), CNB Unni (Taluk Library Council Member), Adv. Royce Chirayil (Former District Panchayath Member), George Kurian (Journalist), Prof. K.M Mathew (HRD Trust Chairman, Pala) etc will deliver commemorative speeches.
Patron of the Library adv. K.J Philipose will deliver the welcome speech. JaiBharath Public Library President V.S Thomas will preside over the meeting and the Library Secretary N.S Mathew will give away the vote of thanks.

M.S Mathew Mundackal, Athirampuzha s/o Late Mrs & Mr L.Scariah Mundackal [Scaria Sir] was born on November 25, 1935 at Athirampuzha, Kottayam in Kerala. He held various key positions in his 60 yrs social and political career. He was a full time teacher and he served as the Headmaster at Holy Family High School Rajapuram, St.Michaels H.S Kaduthuruthy, and St.George’s H.S Kaipuzha and as a teacher at different schools in Karimkunnam, Kidangoor, and Kottayam, he taught 1000s of students.

He passed away at the age of 75, on Monday 18th July, 2011 at: Caritas Hospital, Thellakom, Kottayam.

He is survived by his wife Mary Mathew [Karivelil]; 5 children and 14 Grandchildren :-
◦Justin Mathew [Senior Principal Georgian Public School Puthuppally & Educational Instructor (Rtd) Indian Air Force] & Theresa Justin Nadackal [settled in Kerala] and their Children:Jithin,Jayanth & Jerome];
◦Adv.Jain Mathew & Claret Jain Vadakkel [settled in Florida] and their Children:Janet, Joel,Jacob & John];
◦Jais Mathew[Medical Practitioner] & Jacob Abraham Malisseril [settled in Dallas] and their Chirldren:Jean,Jerin,Jessrin & Joan];
◦Jasmin Mathew [Staff Nurse] & Shibu Mathew Panackal [US return-settled in Kaduthuruthy; Kerala] and their Children:Vivin & Kevin];
◦Jaison Mathew [ Teacher & Chief Editor, webmalayalee] & Animol Kochanaparampil (Physiotherapist) [settled in Mississauga,Canada] and their only son Aldrin].
